About
Every kind of talent.
A comparsa is the troupe: the musicians, dancers, and performers who show up together and make an event an event. Booking one should not happen in DMs.
The problem
Booking talent is a chat log
Finding event talent today means Instagram threads, "DM for pricing," deposits sent on a promise, and hoping the day goes how the messages said it would. Talented performers lose gigs to slow replies, and hosts overpay or get ghosted. Both sides deserve better than a chat log.
The model
A marketplace with written terms
Now available on the App Store, Comparsa is the marketplace version of a handshake: profiles with creator work, prices creators set themselves, requestable dates, and payment terms in writing. Comparsa captures a host's authorized total only when a creator accepts. If a creator cancels an accepted booking, the host will receive a full refund of the amount captured. Under the current standard pricing policy, Comparsa deducts a 10% Standard Creator commission from eligible creator earnings.
Where we are
Starting where the party is
The initial rollout is focused on Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City: cities where mariachis, bandas, DJs, and photographers are booked every single weekend, in English and in Spanish. More cities follow as the creator network grows.
